    Irish Hiking Scarf

Alot has happened since I last posted, I've tried to get on a few times with an update but it just never happened. I did start the Irish Hiking Scarf...... and I actually finished it too. I couldn't help it, all that cabley goodness was infectious! I couldn't put it down. I then immediately cast on for the matching hat and do have a progress picture of it. I'm glad it will be a quick knit, its nice to have one of those every once in a while.

I'm debating about joining the Olympics over with the Yarn Harlot! They have more participants right now than the actual winter olympics. Thing is it starts the 14th and the project I would love to challenge myself with I don't have the yarn for and chances are can't get it intime as I'd have to order it online.

I've joined Project Spectrum over at LollyKnittingaround which starts in March, the deal is to challenge yourself each month to knit or create something with a specific colour for each month. I think this is going to be a good stash buster for me but we'll see.

I'm in the process of getting a new blog but  you need a blog name before you get it so I've got my thinking cap on.

I'll leave you with these pics of my scarf and progress on my hat. Sockies of course HAD to have you picture taken with my knitting..... always wanting to steal the lime light she is :)

    The Goodies

Two in one day wooo hooo lol Well seeing how I said I'd post about my goodies a few days ago and still haven't I thought I'd run upstairs and take the pics so I could share.
Stay with me now, I know there are quite a few but its oh so exciting!!!!
Ok pic number 1 is 4 skeins of Cascade 220 which is 100% Peruvian Highland wool this is to do my Irish Hiking Scarf, hat and mittens.
    # 2 is 2 skeins of Jawool superwash in a great purple and black colourway for my mum's socks. She has requested the double moss stitch from one of my new books *still to come*
#3 Is Rowan #37 with BUTTERFLY, after seeing Ei's and Carrie I couldn't resist. I picked up two balls of shade 592 of kid silk haze to complete this project. If I do ok working with the KSH there is also another shade and great pattern in that mag i'd love to try.
#4 is an upclose of the mag, that is butterfly that is on the front!
#5 is my first new book Sensational Knitted Socks, I looked at Nancy Bushes Vintage Socks but liked this one better. I'll be giving a review on the book once I get cracking on the socks.
#6 is 2 balls of Trampoline Stretch colour 233 which I got at Fiber Art Gallery. This  place was fab, I'm interested in spinning and the sweet lady there taught me how to Spin with a drop spindel and showed me on the spinning wheel as well. Lots of fun, and hubby actually gave the wheel a try :)
#7 is Adorable Knits for Tots, a book which I have been eyeing at work but wanted to wait so I could get it cheaper in the states lol anything to save a buck me :)
#8 These are the cutest little things! Its a double pointed needle holder is the shape of a sweater.Tooooo cute
#9 Close up of those cute little sweaters!!
#10 ahhhhhh the update on the Jaywalker, well I'm now on the heel, got a bit done last night,*coughs* before I fell asleep on the couch. Hey I can't help it!!!
And finally number 11, my darling little Sockies! I was very glad to get home to see her again. Even though we were only gone for 3 days I missed her something awful. How could you not miss that little face!

Well there you have it! THE update! Hopefully I'll beable to get so serious knitting done and have some FO's for next time!

    RIP dear car

Well the car has finally bit the bullet and died. It basically broke in two last night as N was driving it home. The frame actually fell off lol. Right now the body is in the right place but the frame is dragging on the ground. So much for that! But on a better note we just order a new truck last we so we were just hoping that car would last until it arrived but no such luck!
    R.I.P CAR!!!!

    slowly Jaywalking

Well the Jaywalking continues but a little slower than the first. I basically just haven't had time to knit. Since the first sock I've applied for a promotion and got the job, had my first Anniversary and went on a trip. Just got home last night, the house looks like a hurricane hit it with everything we brought back, have to work in the morning and all I want to do is droooooooooool over my new knitting goods and knit. But you'll have to wait until tomorrow for an update on the goods as I don't know where it all is at the minute but there will be pictures I promise!!!
    Until next time Happy Jaywalking!!

    December 19

    Ahhhh now I can relax!

I did it!! I got all that christmas knitting done .  Dog sweater, hat, scarf and mittens set, mittens and hat set, and the poncho. I've had a few days of relaxing and now I'm ready to start again but this time something for me :)
I'm ready to start my jaywalker socks but I don't have the right size needles :( I'll have to call Maggies later and see if they have any left, we have a minimal selection of dpns at work. So to at to the poncho I made for Trish I actually sold her my blue poncho as well, I never wore it and nathan didn't like it so I may as well get some money for it huh :) She also wants me to make her a scarf but I told her to wait till after christmas so I can have a break from knitting for everyone else and do some relaxed knitting for myself that I can enjoy. I bought Weekend Knitting Book from work, it has the pattern for the mini sweaters in it that are sooooo cute and lots of other cute stuff that will keep me busy.
I'll hopefully have a picture of the dog wearing his sweater soon as she told me she'd take one of him in it, but the other stuff I forgot to take pictures off I was just so anxious to get it to the people *shugs* what can ya do.
Anyway fingers crossed I will get the 27th and 28th off at work so nathan and I can have a christmas and go up to his parents for christmas with them. The schedule will be out this week so here's hoping.  Well i'm off to laze, I'm worn out from working 7 days in a row again, geez I hope these shifts get better after christmas.

    nothing but knitting

So Blackberry is sewn together but needs to be blocked. It has however been thrown to the side for now as I've had 3 requests from people at work for knitted items they want as christmas presents.......... could you give me a little LESS notice?????
Anyway so on the needles now is a doggie sweater, pattern from lionbrand.com
Also I have just completed a boa hat and mittens(my FIRST EVER pair of mittens which I am very proud of) for T's Daughter. The mittens where knit with red heart yearn underneath to keep them from stretching and turned out to be VERY WARM. Hopefully she will like them.
I've also got a poncho (with hood, haven't figured out how to add the hood yet) also in boa for another girls daughter and now I'm about to start a christmas present to give myself AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Only good thing is I'm making money off this stuff so that can go towards knitting GOODIES!!!! WOOOP WOOP!
Next after all that I've got to get started on the baby knitting, I've got a set of twins and another baby to knit for, all of which the gender is undetermined. I REALLY WISH they knew, it would make things sooooooooo much easier.
Well thats all for now, I'm adding some pics of blackberry before sewn, the finished boa hat and scarf and the dog sweater, which i've had to rip out TWICE *don't ask*
    November 14

Blackberry (turned into Rust Berry )

So I've got one sleeve left on my Blackberry Cardie which I"m doing in an awesome rust orange colour YUMMMM
No pics so far but I'll take some before the blocking begins.
I've had to rip the first sleeve out and resize the pattern as they were looking like Oprah arms! They look soooo much better now I'd hopefully I have it finished this week!

    Dang Blanket!!!

Ok so here I am, WELL after the baby shower which I didn't get to go to anyway still with a blanket thats NOT DONE!!!! AARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGG!!!
I should say its ALMOST done, I'm almost up to the cream band at the top, THANK GOODNESS!!!! I'm really sick of plain knitting at the moment and can't wait to get into something a little different. I'm gonna need something quick for the next project me thinks, some instant gratification. I've ordered a few patterns from knitntyme, FABULOUS website with lots of Phildar patterns (Phildar is from france and of course has great fashion knitting patterns) The ones I ordered of course were only in french so here's hoping I can figure them out.
I'm also learning how to use the knifty knitter, I have to do a demo of it at work tomorrow..... uggghhhh really I don't see the need for a knifty knitter, I'd much rather use two needles, sooooooooooooooooo much easier but to each his own i guess. Anyway I'm hoping to have the finished blanket on here by next week some time, I'd work on it now but I've got to master this dang knifty knitter.
So off I go, I guess, I'll be back with the completed blanket......... hopefully!

Well its getting bigger, still a ways to go though. I'm glad I took that picture so I can actually see the progress I'm making, right now I just feel like I'm not getting anywhere. 12 days and counting!!!! Hope I can get it to be the size I want it to be. Better get back at it.

So here's a pic of what I've go so far, alot more than I had friday night let me tell you! Will keep you updated on the progress. I finally got the zipper on a cardie I had made abut a year ago as well *like I said I hate to sew* so I'll add a picture of that too.

    The Finished Product!

Well its finally finished! I really like these short and quick projects that don't take long to whip up.
Had to redo the BO on the back edges though as it was too tight and I couldn't fit into it.

    I CAN'T HELP IT, I'M A TIGHT KNITTER!!

Still have one skein of this left but not quite sure what I want to do with it yet.
    Here it is!

    Welcome

    Welcome to my knitting blog!

Wanted to share my love of knitting with you all, and maybe some other crafty things I get up to.
I have completed many projects in the past but this blog will start from my current project on. Any pictures I have of previous projects I will add as well.

At the moment I'm knitting a hug shrug. I found this fabulous hand spun wool online and just couldn't pass it up. I've had it for quite a while but didn't really know what I wanted to make with it. Finally I found a pattern online that I think will be perfect. Its from www.xtreme-knitting.com, a blog by Jennifer Thurston. She is an avid knitter and fantastic designer so props to her. Here's the wool and will include pics of the project so far.

Looks a little weird at the moment but you will see the finished product soon. For some reason I had it in my head that it was going to turn out in stripes but I guess not. Oh well, its still fantastic wool!
